Info Post
Thank you, Veterans, for serving our nation & protecting our freedoms! May we stand together to defend them always!

Despite all the turmoil our nation has faced in the past and will certainly face in the future I pray for all those who are lost and unaware of what a great nation we have been provided with because of those who have gone before us. Veterans Day gives Americans the opportunity to celebrate the bravery and sacrifice of all U.S. veterans. However, most Americans confuse this holiday with Memorial Day. I know as a child I did. I believe that it is imperative that all Americans know the history of Veterans Day so that we can honor our former service members properly for their valor, courage, and all that they have sacrificed for America, her people, and our freedoms.

Attending a university that is in the heart of a medical community can be both, sad and encouraging. I see so much each day that many people would turn their heads from. Next to UAB hospital and Children's hospital is Veteran's hospital. Each morning a huge buses will drop off veterans for routine check-ups, exams, and who knows what more. By far, these men and women are the most heroic figures that stand out in my mind today. Many of them are missing limbs, wear eye patches, and have so many other handicaps. However, the most encouraging thing I see that is distinctive between all veterans and other Americans, is the way in which they wear their pride for America on their shoulder. These men and women noticeably reflect our country differently. These men and women represent so much more. Although I am young and am only aware of American history based on what I learned in school, my ride passed this hospital each morning confirms even more about how proud I am to be an American citizen. It is an absolute blessing that I would never take for granted.

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend! Until next time, happy blogging!
