I have always had an obsession with quotes. I am one of those people who will write quotes on a post-it note and keep it in eye view in my car, study area, school binder, or bathroom mirror. Some quotes can be so encouraging and motivational, and relate to many aspects of life regardless of the situation present. Having quotes handy is a good reminder for me to enjoy life, be thankful for what I have, pass it forward to those in need, advise others, relate to the ever present aspect of change.... the list could go on. Personally, quotes are an element of emotional therapy, and I am sure many can relate. Martha Washington once said, "I am still determined to be cheerful and to be happy in whatever situation I may be, for I have also learnt from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions and not upon our circumstances." I guess you can say 'tis the season of challenging those boundary line we so often set for ourselves. Life is not always going to be easy, friends will come and go, and hardships will always be dressed as opportunities in disguise. However, feeling down and out about a particular situation is never a helpful or healthy way to respond with action. It is always important to remember that "life goes on" and if we stay faithful, determined, and committed despite the issue "this too shall pass" regardless of the situation.
The Lord has a reason for allowing things to happen. We may never understand His wisdom, but we must trust His will. (Psalm 37:5) I will admit that I get so caught up in my own life and daily to-do lists that I often forget to enjoy the journey. I forget to appreciate the little things life offers and those I meet along the way. My personal challenge is to be a blessing to another, be a better friend, encourage others, take time to share with another, and to simply show that I care. I am so blessed by those of you who take time out of your day to read my blog, so I am going to begin my challenge by starting here. For today's post I am going to attach a few of my favorite quotes below. I hope those of you reading will be inspired as I promote what I love. From one educator wanna-be to another, "The life you live is the lesson you teach." Until next time, happy blogging!
