Happy Labor Day! I hope you all have had a wonderful day! Many of you know that I LOVE baking. I like to think that I love cooking, but I truly love to bake. This week I have two tests so I have spent much of the weekend studying. However, yesterday I started studying again after church and did not move until almost 9:00 pm. As promised in my very first blog post, I commented that "I tend to think that I will want to blog about what spikes an interest in me each day as I attempt new recipes...." so I think I must have hit the roof itching to get the dishes dirty. I did try a new recipe, but I tried three old ones, too. As Tony would say, "You went absolutely crazy in the kitchen, Kalyn." When I get in my element I certainly do not think twice about the time or what else has to be done before the night ends. I could care less of how simple or difficult the recipe is, I just open all the cabinets and get to work. I bake until my heart is full of the sweet smells, and the oven’s warmth fills our kitchen. Many people have their own way of working through things in life and for me, the hours I spend baking are therapeutic, encouraging, and challenging moments. A childhood friend always reminds me that “desserts” is “stressed” spelled backwards, so baking is perfectly healthy for my growing heart, soul, and bottom half. :)
I was planning to only bake brownies for our Labor Day Lunch, but I actually ended up going above and beyond by baking homemade chocolate chip minis, three! batches of brownies, chocolate delight, and nutella popsicles (they were a flop, so there are not any pictures). If you are a chocolate lover trying out a new diet, this post is not one to see at this moment. You just might end up in the kitchen searching for something sweet. If so, it is not my fault. :)
Without a doubt I know that I will be able to make it to my last test just by the help of all the sweets lingering in our home. Most of us only have a four day week, so go get at it friends. If you need a little help getting through the upcoming days just try a little baking! As always, until next time- happy blogging!

Happy Labor Day from the Randolph's! Sending a little love from our family to yours. This is our first Labor Day and second holiday to spend together as a married couple. We have truly enjoyed not spending the holidays traveling to visit each other for only a 24 hour period. I cannot wait for many, more hoildays to share! I love my precious Husband! The Lord's blessings continue to overflow my cup!
