THIS WEEK'S QUESTION:

NEXT WEEK'S QUESTION:
What is one of the most valuable lessons you have learned this year so far?
Life is a series of lessons. Small lessons, large lessons, and hard lessons. I think this is an awesome question for us all to ponder no matter the time of year or our current stage in life.
In our little newlywed world there has been so much going on this year. Can you believe we are already in the month of March? I hope the time change is treating you well on this lovely Monday. :) I literally do not know where time goes! While there is so much that I feel as though I can contribute to this question, one current lesson outweighs and encompasses them all. To me, this lesson is one that can be attributed to many walks of life, no matter the reason, stage, or time.
Have you ever had one of those weeks where everything happens in a completely different way than you planned? Recently I had "one of those" weeks. (Read More Here.) For those of you who do not know me, I am a planner. I like for things to go a certain way, rather my way. Yes, terribly selfish confession. I am working on fixing this misstep in my life.
When things become off track I do not freak out but it does takes A LOT of patience to get back on track in a productive manner. I think this is because I must feel in control of every single situation in my life no matter how large or small. Lately I am learning more than ever that no matter how much I plan, no matter how far in advance I prepare, the LORD'S plan is always different than mine. The LORD'S plan will always prevail. (And, I am so thankful!)
Things will not always turn out the way I want and I am slowly beginning to feel more comfortable letting go of the reigns. While His plan is always better than my plan, it is hard to not get lost in life's circumstances from day to day. I am learning that life's circumstances are HIS plans for me. The trouble of turmoil is truly okay. The Lord's unconditional love overshadows all that plagues this daily life.
When it rains it pours. I praise Jesus that every storm runs out of rain. I am learning that I must wait and trust on the Lord's planning (and timing) while surrendering entirely to Him.

Jesus promises that we can achieve the victorious life through deep dependence on Him, only. When my plans, strength, and trust in the midst of earthly situations fail, it is then that through those life lessons I learn my deepest weaknesses. I learn that I must rely on Him. I must trust in Him. I must have faith in Him. With profound reliance on Jesus, true dependence will deepen one step at a time.
Lessons in life are a trainer for me, time is a trainer; each teaching me to wait upon the Lord, to trust Him in the darkness full of confusion. I am learning the more extreme the circumstances, the more likely I am to realize His hand in the midst of a situation. Also, these times allow Him to be given more glory and honor. When adversity strikes and I chose to praise Him anyway, my trust in the Lord is a showpiece in the invisible realms.
