I completed my last final this morning and am home free until January!! Instead of celebrating Christmas break right away, Tony and I spent the afternoon in the doctor office. Tony Harper has not been feeling well since Friday. He opted out of going to work today and I in turn decided it was time to go to the doctor for a little professional help and a shot. He needs to be at his best for Christmas, so hopefully we caught it in time! Hopefully he will feel better soon! Say a little prayer for him. :)
Instead of celebrating Christmas break like most, we rented a Redbox and I have been working on some over due Pinterest projects. Next up on the agenda is homemade potato soup for dinner and hot chocolate for dessert. For now, I thought I would share my little craft project as today's post.
All the newlyweds out there: Listen up! This is a "must make" Christmas ornament!
On another note: Tomorrow we head back to wedding planning land. I will be posting again on the series "Wedding Wednesday!" Do not forget to tune in for tips and advice on flowers. :)

Making this ornament is extremely cheap and definitely one of a kind keepsake to commemorate your wedding. I first saw the idea on Pinterest while I was wedding planning. Honestly, since the time of wedding planning I forgot all about making this little project. Recently, a newlywed friend posted their ornament on Instagram and I was able to find out where to buy the goods. This afternoon served as a perfect time to get crafty!
This is the idea that I saw on Pinterest
Directions:
- I cut the invitation and program into quarter inch strips.
- It cut apart pretty accurately without having to snip extra off.
- I was able to pull off the key details in the slices.
- I rolled it around a pen. The invitation was pretty thick.
- I then took a glass ornament, and I inserted the curled strips into the ornament.
- Add ribbon
This is our replica ornament
This glass ball has our wedding invitation inside. I think I may make another ball with our wedding program inside. I think I will plan to glitter dust one ball ornament so that it will look a little different from the other. The added Bride and Groom charm and ribbon give the ornament a little extra personalization. I love that the location, date, time and names can be seen throughout. It makes it all the more special.
Depending upon what you saved from your wedding, many things could be added- Wedding colors could be used in place of the ribbon, lace from your dress/veil, table cloth snips, anything tied to your bouquet similar to the charm idea, ect.
This ornament can easily be created with birth announcements, engagement announcements, save the dates, shower invitation, graduation invitations. You name it-- I am sure the list goes on.
Also, this ornament would be a great gift at a shower, for those helping with your wedding, those in the wedding, family, friends, or whatever.
I was able to find everything at Hobby Lobby for under $20. Enjoy and get crafty! Happy Pinning!
