Tony's brother, Jordan, came to visit us for the day in the big city. We did a little NFL football watching, national championship gear store browsing, food tasting, laughing, catching up since Christmas break, and everything else that falls between.
It is always so much fun spending time with Tony and Jordan. From minute to minute I never know what is going to be said or done. Needless to say, it was an eventful Sunday!
Dinner was at Jim-N-Nick's BBQ, which is so yummy. Tony and I had the "Pig in the Potato Patch" dish and Jordan had a BBQ burger. No matter what dish you get, you can taste the southern respect in every single bite. Ah, I am getting hungry just thinking about it. :)
For those of you not from the south, Jim-N-Nick's is a famous BBQ joint that serves all kinds of southern home cooking from vegetables, mac-n-cheese, and many different pork meats. Plus, their sweet tea and cheese biscuits are out of this world good.
Afterwards, dessert was at The Melting Pot which is a fondue restaurant. This was Jordan's first experience so Tony and I gladly showed him the ropes. If you have never had the fine dining experience from The Melting Pot I gladly invite you to visit and we shall go together. Although Tony and I do not visit The Melting Pot often, is it certainly a wonderful treat on occasion. We never take part in the 5 course menu, only the dessert course menu simply because I could not imagine cooking my entire dinner over a small pot. It would take forever.
The other night Tony and I were watching a movie on TV. At some particular point during the movie we were discussing desserts and at the same time we both commented on The Melting Pot. How ironic? We took it as a clue and savored the opportunity to take Jordan along for the ride. I think this was our second time to go in almost two years. There is just something special about a fondue pot that invites conversation, laughter, peanut butter milk chocolate, and amazing desserts that range from fruits to cheesecake, cheeses and brownies. No only do you enjoy good food (or dessert in our case), but you also get to enjoy an upscale environment creating a memorable experience.
Then, we ended the evening watching the new movie, Zero Dark Thirty. This movie chronicles the decade long hunt for and S.E.A.L. attack on Osama bin Laden. While the movie was not action packed, it is extremely historical and gives many first hand accounts of all that has transpired since 9/11. It is definitely a must see. I left being more proud than ever to be an American citizen. Tony and I found ourselves still awake late into the night discussing the movie. It will definitely be one that we buy and teach our children with in the years to come.
Here is the movie trailer should you be interested.
As you can tell we dogged the rain buckets the entire night, as did many in the south. I think it may be time to consider building an ark. I feel as though it has rained every single day this year.
It was a lovely, cold, wet evening spent quite well.

Ultimately, I am thankful to share life with such awesome southern gentlemen. These are two of the best and I am lucky to have snagged one. Ladies, the other one is single! I will be accepting applications. Ha! Just kidding. He is a big boy and can do his female homework just fine on his own. We love you, Jordan Lee. :)
Y'all have a great day! I will be back tomorrow with a Wedding Wednesday post introducing you to my favorite new Bride-to-Be. I hope you will stay tuned in! Big things are coming!
As always, until next time- Happy Blogging!
