I know I updated frequently over Twitter and Instagram during Christmas break. However, I truly want to look back in five years and have words to read alongside each picture posted or blurb of only 140 characters. I want this blog to be able to tell our life story if our future children decide to read. I want to be sure to journal all of our first experiences, holidays, random days, whether good or bad, as we experience newlywed world full force.
Although unintentionally, I accepted my first sponsored post series during one of the most exciting times of the year. I honestly did not think twice about the fun posts that I had planned to blog over Christmas break. Instead, as soon as I heard from sponsors I started creating posts in specific content. Consequently, if you have not noticed I posted sometimes twice a day during the month of December to make sure that I kept my word for all of the lovely Brides wedding planning.
So, I have decided that I am going to play catch up during the next few days this first week in January in order to recap all that transpired over our first Christmas celebration as a married couple. For the next few days there will be no sponsored posts, only raw, grammatically incorrect posts full of our first Christmas experiences. I hope you all will enjoy reading the posts ans seeing the photos!
Over Christmas break we were able to do a lot of things that we (1) typically do not have the time for or (2) typically do not have access to in the city.
Today, I would like to highlight our first hunt as Mr. and Mrs. Randolph.
After Christmas Tony had his mind on one thing and one thing only- hunting for that 30 point buck. He spent every afternoon/evening and a few mornings in the woods in search of another big buck. You can read HERE and see photos of the 8 point he killed opening weekend this season. Of course I had to join in on all the freezing fun in the woods at least once or twice. Crazy? Yes. Memories made nonetheless.
I actually had not been hunting since I shot my very first and only deer in sixth grade. As a young girl, I would go hunting with Steve, my step father, and he eventually allowed me to shoot a deer. After that, my hunting experiences died all together. I never set foot in the woods again. I am not really sure why I never wanted to hunt again. I decided to start fresh with my husband this season and try again. This time, I was not out to shoot a deer. I only wanted to truly spend some time in the woods watching my husband do something that he enjoys.
Our first hunt together went well. Overall, we saw a bunch of does, turkeys, buzzards, and a few small bucks near dust. The weather was extremely cold and the wind chill was even worse after dark. Plus, it had rained the day before and there was lovely mud everywhere. I think I had on three (+) layers of every type of clothing. I am pretty sure I walked like a penguin all the way through the woods to the shooting stand ha! Regardless, it was an enjoyable first experience for us and I am sure we will be back as soon as possible.

Until next time- Happy Blogging!
