I am so glad that you have tuned in to read the blog today! I would like to welcome you if you are a new reader! If you would like to know more about this blog, yesterday I posted Love.Laughter.Happily Ever After 2012 flashbacks. If you are a regular, thank you for reading and staying faithful! I hope you all will continue to come back!
Let's fast forward to my New Year's Resolutions since everyone else is talking about theirs. To be honest, I am not really a resolution kind of girl. I have never really made a resolution. I do like to challenge myself, set goals, and attempt to embrace changes that are ever present in our world. While these things may impact my life at any time of the year, I tend to try and prepare myself with a positive attitude accordingly. Looking ahead, face to the sun, Tony and I welcome this new year and all it has to offer full throttle. We welcome all that may come and all that may be lost. Bring it on 2013!
No matter how difficult life many seem, no matter how tough this world may be, there is always something to be thankful for, something to learn, and hope for the toughest of situations that may be experienced each day. Life is a beautiful thing. I know that I am young and still have a lot to learn from life. I tend to think I have learned a lot already, but in reality, that it what life is all about, right? Learning. Once I get knocked down to the ground, I have to find the strength inside to pick myself back up and move forward. I truly believe it is our dispositions about situations that help us to carry on and persevere during those tough days. Carrying around that positive attitude does wonders in my life each and every day.
I like to remind my closest friends and relatives to remember their positive assets on down days. In the same way, when I feel discouraged by something around me that I cannot change, I try to remember to embrace whatever negative situations or people that may be affecting my daily routines. Just because someone else may be having a bad day, I try to not let it bother my day. I do not let them pull me down to their level.
No matter what we have to do, let's challenge ourselves to make 2013 better than 2012. Even if 2012 was difficult, let's seek to make this year better in all that we do. We must be the creator that implements our challenges for effective changes. We must be ready to run the race to achieve new heights and goals. Let's start this year year honest and brave.
Personally, I am challenging myself to make the next six months of our marriage better than the first six months. The first six months have been darn good, but I know that we still have a lot to learn and many opportunities left to experience together. Second, I have goals set for a certain number of credit hours that I want to complete for school by the end of December. I may be a transfer student, but I will complete my college degree no matter how long it takes me to repeat courses and practicum. Last, I am going to resolve to be a better Christian in all that I do. Ultimately, I want to pursue a more intimate, deeper relationship with my Savior in each walk of my life- marriage, school, personal, family relations, friends. I want that relationship to shine through my daily lifestyle in all that I do.
While I am sure that there are other things that I will challenge myself to embrace or goals that I may set, for now I am not going to set specifics for things that are not realistic or needed in my life. I am sure there are things that I will want to better or improve with time, but perfection is not realistic and can be over-rated by many. For now, I want to continue doing my best at all that I continue to strive towards.
As you enter into 2013, whether you decide to set goals or make resolutions, do not forget your greatest assets that make you who you are. Remember to savor each and every moment. Life is precious, valuable, and fleeting. Embrace everything. Love yourself. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it.
Did you make any resolutions? If so, what are they? Tell me below!
Happy New Year, friends! Enjoy your day with those you love and hold close before the grind starts again tomorrow.
Until next time, happy blogging!
PS- For those of you who were asking about the DIY monogrammed iPhone background, here is the blog tutorial! It was a bit difficult since I have a PC. If you have a Mac, you should be good! If you would like to view this pin on Pinterest and you follow my boards, I pinned this under DIY. Enjoy! :)
